First Annual
Fuquay Fright Fest Horror Short Story Contest - October 11, 2003
The first short story contest held here at
Lazy Lion Books. The stories were all in the Horror genre, and were judged
by professional authors
Drew Williams
and
Mike Jasper.
What made this contest tough was that the contestants had a 500-word limit
for their stories. Drew Williams, a college professor of English and
creative writing (when not writing his own fiction), later said that the
entries, for the most part, were better than he usually received from his
college students.
First:
The Visitor
by Mary
Justice Blades
Second:
Metamorphosis
by Joseph S.
Coleman
Third:
Gathering
Shadows by Luna Black
