Lazy Lion Books Presents

If you missed this year's FrightFest, you missed antique cars (they weren't ours), live music (it wasn't ours), a chili cook-off (good chili, but it still wasn't ours), and a dancing troll. (Okay...we admit to the troll being ours!)

The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce was hosting its own celebration this year on Main Street; A Day in Downtown.  Their celebration included a car show, live music all day, crafts for sale, and a chili cook-off.

FrightFest featured four well-known North Carolina horror authors, the culmination of a short story writing contest, fun and camaraderie.

Between the two, you couldn't go wrong. Something for everyone, right?

Guess not. Whether due to the crowds outside of the store (who were most definitely more into the music than reading horror) or the fact that there were a *lot* of Halloween parties to get ready for and go to that night, attendance was *way* down.

Don't get me wrong. We still had a good time, we still judged the horror flash fiction stories (Read the winners below!), and we still had fun and camaraderie.

We were just a little more cozy about it this year.

And we had a dancing troll.

Peace.
